Heavyweight David Price took a big step forward on the road to recovering from his successive defeats to Tony Thompson by claiming a first-round knockout against Istvan Ruszinski. The 30-year-old Olympic bronze medallist, twice beaten by the American Thompson last year, was supposed to be fighting Konstantin Airich in Stuttgart but the Kazakh failed a medical. Ruszinski stepped in but found himself down on the canvas two-thirds of the way into the first round after a short right hook from Price left the referee with little choice than to stop the contest.
