That Indians girls love all things Bollywood is a known fact. But what has come as a surprise is that they feel strongly about friendships in the film industry too.
On the occasion of International Friendship Day today, a matrimonial site conducted an online survey to find out what the country’s singles women felt about famous celeb rity friendships.
According to the survey done by shaadi.com, single Indian women want to see the sweet-and sour camaraderie of actors Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to turn sweet permanently.
Of the 4,700 responses receieved, 52.8% voted for Shah Rukh and Salman, followed by actors Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra with 28.3% votes, and last but not the least, 18.9% votes for filmmakers Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma.
The respondents were also asked to vote for the best among Bollywood’s mother-son and father-son relationships. As many as 61.9% votes went to the friendly camaraderie between Neetu Singh and Ranbir Kapoor; and 59.2% votes for David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan. Also, Shah Rukh and his daughter Suhana’s friendship won a maximum of 67.8% as far as Bollywood’s father-daughter relationships are concerned.
"The results suggest that people are looking at celebrities as real people with real relationships. These are some of the most successful Bollywood relationships whose love, understanding for each other also makes them great friends," says Gourav Rakshit, of the matrimonial site.
People were also asked about their favourite celeb couples who are also great friends. Voters chose star pair Abhishek Bachchan an and Aishwarya Rai (39.2%), followed by actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan (37.3%), and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and wife Anjali Tendulkar (23.5%).
