Three persons were arrested for arranging CCTV cameras in the trial rooms of a garment shop in DVG Road in the upmarket Basavanagudi, Bangalore.
A Jayanagar resident was in shock recently when she discovered a CCTV camera in the trial room. Two owners of the shop and an employee have been arrested.
The woman visited a Dresses Showroom on Thursday, along with her husband and other family members. When she went into the changing room, she noticed a CCTV camera and immediately informed her husband. The couple created a ruckus which ended with shop owners Sandeep Suresh Hastekar and his cousin Sunil apologizing to the customers. They even deleted the images.
The couple then approached Basavanagudi police on Sunday and lodged a complaint. “The camera had been fixed in the trial room some months ago and the shopkeepers had been watching customers all the time. But when we went to take stock of the situation, all the images in the database had been deleted. Sandeep, Sunil and their employee Afroze Pasha were arrested,” a police officer said.
